The 157-km road, which will be built under the PMGSY will pass through the Namdapha National Park and is scheduled to be completed within the next three years.

Road infra cos face problems as banks are wary of lending
Hyderabad-based IVRCL won a contract from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on March 31 last year, to develop a 121-km stretch of road between Rajahmundry and Gundugolanu in Andhra Pradesh. Almost a year later, the company has still not managed to arrange bank loans for the Rs 1,617 crore project.

Highway developers may get compensation for delays
The Union government on February 19 deliberated on providing compensation to road project developers for delays in obtaining environment clearances and land acquisition, besides providing early exits to highway developers. The issues were discussed in a meeting between the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the National Highways Authority of India.

More than 150 temporary encroachments in front of the shops between Kalavasal Signal and Mudakkusalai were removed with the help of an earth moving vehicle.

Maha road development corp awaits nod for ring road
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is waiting for a go-ahead from the State infrastructure committee to start work on the proposed 170-km ring road around Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Corporation's officials said it would be a public-private partnership.
