Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, EM Sudarsana Natchiappan has said that the possibility of linking Kerala with the Chennai-Bangalore industrial corridor project was being examined by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
In the next two months, the study report on the corridor is expected and it is possible to link Kochi with Coimbatore and Thiruvananthapuram with Tirunelveli as a garland of the Chennai-Bangalore corridor project.
Sudarsana Natchiappan was speaking at a meeting organised by the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kochi on October 15.
The Minister also suggested associations of businessmen, industrialists and manufacturers to team up and set up committees to make the industrial corridors and the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) project a reality.
