CM's initiative on Mumbai water transport project

The Chief Minister has directed the Maharashtra State Road Development Corpora­tion (MSRDC), the state's no­dal agency for carrying out infras­tructure projects, to und­ertake detailed studies on water trans­port project for both rou­tes of Mumbai's western and eastern coast. With the CM's initiative, the proposed water transport project on the west­ern and eas­tern coasts of Mumbai may well be back on track. Chavan also asked the agency to work out expression of inte­rest for int­e­rested parties. The wes­t­ern route aims to con­n­ect Borivli with Nariman Point, while the eastern route aims to con­nect Nerul with Gateway of India.
