Delhi government would set up civic amenities like hospitals and schools in over 1,600 unauthorised colonies, where it plans to ease development guidelines.
The necessary infrastructure facilities to all the 1,639 unauthorised colonies would be provided by the state government.
For this purpose, the state government is in the process of acquiring land in the areas. The Delhi government has already written to Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath for changing land use norms in such settlements.
In September 2012, the government regularised 895 unauthorised colonies.
