Ahead of the ninth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), the state government has given the logistics sector industry status in order to improve the prospects of the state in attracting investment. The state industry and mines department has also issued a Government Resolution (GR) grating industry status to the sector. While some states have granted the logistics sector industry status, the provisions of the Gujarat Land Revenue Code and industrial policy have been modified to give the sector an industry status. The sector now will also get financial and other kinds of incentives under the industrial policy and other policies
