Imported coal stocks at 16 major ports in India stood at 10.2 million tonne (mt) on September 28, Intercocean Group data showed. Interocean Group is a a Delhi-based shipbroker. The imported coal stocks at the major ports is up by 2 per cent from a week earlier.

Thermal/steam coal stocks stood at 8.2 mt, up from 7.96 mt the earlier week, the data showed. Coking coal comprised 2 mt, down from 2.1 mt a week earlier.

The 16 ports surveyed on September 28 were Mangalore, Tuticorin, Kakinada, Paradip, Kandla, Gangavaram, Vizag, Krishnapatnam, Muldwarka, Bhavnagar, Pipavav, Goa, Haldia, Magdalla, Hazira and Dahej.
