Eyeing an investment of $200 billion in renewable energy for a cleaner climate, India is up against a mammoth task with just about 5 GW of capacity addition estimated to be taking place in 2015 as against a target of quadrupling the existing capacity to 175 GW by 2022. On a positive note, foreign and domestic investors have already committed $20-30 billion, while green bonds are catching up with proceedings over Rs.10,000 crore in the first year.
