As MARG-owned Karaikal port is on its way to receiving takeout finance from IIFCL, the promoter of Chennai headquartered group is a busy man, As the head honcho of one of India’s fastest growing infrastructure organi­sations, GRK Reddy is today seen as a “new face of Indian infra­structure”.

He envisages that “sustainable, Indianised and inclusive infrastructure” will be a critical driver of Indian economy.

A postgraduate in commerce and an alumnum of the Kellogg School of Management, GRK is actively involved with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and is a member on a number of prestigious committees: Steering Committee, City Connect Programme–the CII task force on Building Inclusive Cities; CII Tamil Nadu, CEO Forum; Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, Rural Technology & Business Incubator (RTBI); and Academic Council of the Anna University, Chennai. He is currently the President of Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce, and is the recipient of many awards from various organisations such as the “Exemplary Leadership Award” by Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry at India Leadership Summit, Kolkata, 2012. At the Gateway Awards of Excellence: Ports & Shipping 2012, he was conferred with the “Special Jury Award”. He was awarded as ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur’ at Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award 2011, New Delhi. The list goes on.

GRK is a huge follower of yoga. He feels that yoga helps him to harbour a clear approach towards every aspect of his life. He also enjoys travelling. “Whenever I travel to different places I always harbour a keenness to understand the cultural history of the particular region and try to pick up a few things that reflect the value and cultural richness of that region,” he says.
