Until 19 August, prospective bidders can submit requests for qualifications (RFQ) for the proposed fourth container terminal project of at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT).
The port authority recently extended the deadline for submitting RFQ for the project reportedly because bidders were seeking more time to study tender documents.
The restructured project, comprising a total quay length of 2 kilometers (about 1.2 miles), adequate back-up infrastructure and modern service equipment, is estimated to require a total investment of $1.4 billion.
The port authority invited fresh tender for the much-delayed project because the earlier winner of the project failed to sign a concession contract within the stipulated timeline.
In September 2012, the port authority cancelled the contract given to the earlier winning consortium of PSA International.
