To build 23 roads and four bridges in Kerala, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 174 crore to the State Public Works Department (PWD), said the Kerala PWD Minister VK Ebrahim Kunju. Nabard sanctioned the sum in Mumbai recently.
Nabard has sanctioned largest amount to Kerala, like in the last two fiscal years, the Minister said. The fund will be released in two instalments. The first lot will be an amount of Rs 123 crore followed by a second instalment.
He added that the Keezharoor bridge across the Neyyar in Thiruvananthapuram, Melattoor Bridge at Malappuram and the Kallar bridge at Idukki are the bridges going to be built under this project. An amount of Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of these bridges.
