Maoists torch machines at road work site in Odisha

Two JCB machines, two tractors and a motorcycle were torched by by suspected CPI maoists at the construction site of PMGSY road at Miangpadar village, about 30 km from Bhawanipatna in Odisha on October 20. Police seized 10 leaflets and three posters of the Bansadhara, Ghumsura and Nagabali divisions of the CPI(Maoist) from the spot.

The Maoists asked the contractor to stop exploitation of labourers. They have stated in the leaflets that labourers are being paid Rs 100 instead of Rs 200 each. The road is being laid from Jugsaipatna to Titijhola. SP (Kalahandi) Sarthak Sadangi hinted that it may not be the handiwork of Maoists but said the clouds will clear after the probe is over.
