The environment ministry has deferred a decision on granting clearance to underground coal mining project of Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd in the state of Chhattisgarh. The said company is seeking environment clearance for Rajgammar underground coal mine project located in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. The coal block was jointly allocated to Monnet Ispat and Topworth Steel Pvt Ltd in June 2009 for their steel plants. The coal block is having a geological reserves of 49.93 million tonne.
