The blueprint for the National Broadband Plan (NBP) to connect 160 million Indian households with high-speed Internet connections by 2014, will be ready by the end of this fiscal. The ministry aims to take concrete steps towards finalisation of the NBP, including the strategy for implementation and roll-out of optical fibre networks.
