New airport terminal to be ready by 2021 The proposed work of Trichy International airportÂ’s terminal building, which is touted to be a first-of-its-kind in the country, is said to be completed by 2021. Without affecting the existing flight operations at the land available with the Airport Authority of India (AAI), the work on the new terminal building has already started. The new terminal will have a capacity to handle 3.63 million passengers per annum, with two-level air-conditioned modular integrated building having an area of 61,634 sq m.
