Travelling to IGI Airport in Delhi and NCR will be smoother and quicker than before, with opening of the new Metro station at the domestic terminal of the airport. The Delhi Metro promises to ferry commuters to the airport in maximum 50 minute from Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad as well as from several parts of the national Capital once the Terminal 1-IGI Airport station becomes operational.

Expecting nearly one lakh people to use the airport Metro station every day, the Delhi Metro is constructing the largest underground metro station with a special train reversal facility that enables to increase the frequency of trains up to the airport. The Terminal 1 station, which is a part of the Janakpuri West – Botanical Garden metro corridor in the ongoing phase-III, will be operational by 2016.
