The newly set up Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility would help decongest the existing jetties at the New Mangalore Port and also help attract more traffic, according to the Chairman. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical (MRPL), which set up the facility, may commission it soon. The operation and maintenance contract for it is already in place.
