Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has said the Karnataka state government has been requested to share 50 per cent of the cost for widening of national highways (NHs) in the state. ‘The Union govt has agreed to take up these works in response to the MLAs long-pending demands,’ he said. However, he did not elaborate on whether the cost-sharing would be for the ongoing/ proposed works or if it would become a permanent feature.
