Acting on the closure notice from the Orissa State Pollution Control Board, the authorities of Kaniha plant of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) have shut down one of the four 500 MW units of the stage-II of this 3,000 MW super thermal station. There are two 500 MW units in its first stage.
