Palghar locals holds protest against cargo port

Opposing the proposed cargo-handling port by JSW Infrastructure in Palghar taluk, residents of the area observed a Black Day on October 8. Even the local peoples representatives including MPs and MLAs took part in the protest.

Members of the Sangarasha Samiti and locals, on the first anniversary of the hearing for the port (to come up in Nandgaon at Palghar) took out a protest march on the occasion.
A meeting would be held in the office of the Thane Additional Collector on October 16, to discuss this issue further.

Last year, it was on the same day a public hearing was held to get peoples’ view on the proposed port. People from villages of Nandgaon, Alewadi, Navapur, Murbhe, Pam, Tembhi and Kolwade as well as from the MIDC area participated in the protest march.
