In Jammu and Kashmir, an amount of Rs 6.68 crore has been utilised on the execution of six road projects measuring 23 kilometers in the Karnah tehsil of Kupwara district under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), out of the allotted Rs 12.86 crore for this purpose.

This was stated by the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Zahoor Ahmad Mir while taking the stock of works under PMGSY in the area. It was given out that work on Teetwal-Semari five kilometers is in progress while 4 kilometers of road have been completed at a cost of Rs 1.40 crore, 6 kilometers Prada-Amrooi road, 4 kilometers Tangdhar-Shamis Pora, 2 kilometers Gomal-Badwan, Frag Bridge-Pingla, Farash Bridge-Ibkot roads under execution would be commissioned during the current fiscal.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate exhorted upon the officers and engineers of the PMGSY for timely completion of the road projects under execution in the Sub-Division so that people from far flung areas and Pahari habitations be connected with the Tehsil headquarter.
