The revised final feasibility report for six laning of the Bengaluru-Chennai expressway is under preparation and the funds likely to be incurred on the project will be finalised after its completion. The land for the project is in the process of being acquired by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) as per National Highway Act, 1956, in all three states, namely, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The project will be taken up after the acquisition of land is fully completed. The government has stopped short of mentioning a time period for completion of the project in view of the ongoing land acquisition.
