RP Singh, Chairman of SJVN informed that the firm may invest about Rs 986 crore on several projects, including wind and thermal during 2013-14 compared to
Rs 796 crore invested in the previous fiscal.
Singh informed this during a conference call with analysts. Most of the Rs 796 crore spent last year went to its 412 mw Rampur hydro electric project in Himachal Pradesh.
By September 2013, the state-owned firm expects to complete the Rampur project and commission all the six units by March.
By August, SJVN plans to commission first wind power project, having a capacity of 47.6 mw in Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. The power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project has been executed at a price of Rs 5.72 a unit and it expects a return on equity of 13 percent. The project cost of Rs 300 crore would entirely be equity, Singh said.
The firm expects to begin pre-construction work on its 1,320 mw maiden thermal power project at Chausa in Bihar soon. It is in the process of acquiring land for the project.
The firm would also issue tender for pre-qualification of bidders for 51 mw Jakhol Sankri hydel project at Uttarakhand and also float tender for the 588 mw Luhri hydro-electric project at Himachal Pradesh in 2013-14.
