Ashoka Buildcon lowest bidder for Bihar project
Ashoka Buildcon has emerged as the lowest bidder for a project with the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. The project, which pertains to rural electrification works under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana as well as strengthening of the power distribution network under a special plan for Vaishali district in Bihar, will cost Rs 373.39 crore.
Government evaluating site in Bihar for UMPP
The power ministry is evaluating a site in Bihar for setting up a 4,000 MW ultra mega power project (UMPP) and has approached the Coal Ministry for allocation of a nearest coal block for the thermal plant.

The Bihar Road Construction Department (RCD) is planning to have a bridge maintenance policy on the lines of road maintenance policy. The RCD has constructed 19,000 km of roads and over 12,000 bridges and culverts since 2006. The government is now focusing on the maintenance of these roads and bridges because there has been no such policy so far.
Four-laning of Gaya-Biharsharif road approved
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the project for the development of four laning of 93 kms. (approximately) long Gaya-Hisua-Rajgir-Nalanda-Biharsharif section on National Highway-82 in Bihar.
