The Union Highways Ministry has sought Rs 300 crore from the government for immediate restoration of road network in the flood devastated Uttarakhand. The cost of permanent work will be assessed later. The two worst affected stretches - Rishikesh to Mana and Rudraprayag to Gauri Kund - need Rs 30 crore each for immediate repair, according to an estimate submitted by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) to the highways ministry.
