In Chennai, completion of the Thirumangalam flyover is further delayed. It was to be opened by April, but now it has a new deadline for completion Ăâ September. Work was delayed by land acquisition and lack of cooperation between government agencies. The flyover on Inner Ring Road will go over the junction of Anna Nagar 2nd Avenue and Mogappair Road, and will speed up travel for commuters from Koyambedu, Ambattur, Red Hills and Avadi.

Himachal’s plea to World Bank over delayed road project
For building the much delayed 80-km Theog-Hatkoti road in Shimla area, the Himachal Pradesh government has requested the World Bank to allow it to invite fresh global tenders. The State dumped Longijian Road and Construction company of China for slow work on the Rs 226-crore project. The road was to be completed in 2013. Only 20 per cent of the work is completed till now.

Jammu’s Mughal Road project deadline extended to May
The Rs 640 crore Mughal Road project, which connects the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch in the Jammu region with the Kashmir Valley has been delayed. The road project is is now five years behind schedule. Now, the new deadline has been set for May.
