Following the recent launch of direct flights between Delhi International Airport and Birmingham Airport (UK), the two airports have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalise a working relationship and commit to developing links between the two cities even further.

Highway soon to link India, Myanmar, Thailand
For smoother and faster movement of goods between India, Myanmar and Thailand a proposed highway is expected to be opened soon for traffic, the Union Government has announced. The Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said adding that the Indian government is presently working with the governments of Myanmar and Thailand.
Panel report on road developers within one month
The Rangarajan committee set up to look into the aspects of bailout of highway developers will submit its report within a month, officials concerned in the government said in Delhi. The three-member committee is headed by Rangarajan, who is the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council.

Govt may strike a deal on Rs 72,000-cr rapid rail project
India's Rs 72,000-crore rapid rail connectivity project is set to enter the next stage as the Union government and the State governments concerned likely to reach an agreement on cost-sharing of the project. The rapid rail project is to connect Delhi to Panipat (Haryana), Alwar (Rajasthan) and Meerut (Uttar Pradesh).
Chennai roads turning pedestrian-friendly
Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment has praised the initiative of the Chennai Corporation of widening of footpaths, make them pedestrian friendly and regulate traffic on the city roads. The Corporation is widening the footpaths from 1.5 metre to 3 metre by reclaiming space.
