Ore quantity of e-auctioning is very megre for port
The Mormugao Port Trust in Goa could see an increase in its cargo as the Supreme Court allowing the e-auction of about 11 million tonne (mt) of iron ore mined in the state. However, this is just a fourth of about 40 mt of iron-ore cargo the port handled in its heydays.

Mormugao Port to receive 30 cruise liners by April
Between October 2013 and April 2014, the Mormugao Port in Goa is scheduled to welcome around 30 cruise liners. Recently the luxurious Sea Dream Yacht Club, for the first time, arrived at Mormugao Port. The yacht arrived on October 28, carrying around 125 passengers.

Govt expects to solve Goa ore mining ban issue sonn
Expecting a rise in iron ore exports, which would help to lower the current account deficit, the Union government hopes to get relief on iron ore mining in Goa by November. Union Minister for Mines Dinsha Patel hoped that the legal and environmental issues in Goa's iron ore mining will be resolved by October-end or November first week.

NHAI drops highway projects worth Rs 4,000 cr
As the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) could not acquire land required for road construction, it has scrapped highway projects worth Rs 4,000 crore in Goa and Kerala states. Referring the NHAI's inability to build the 4,000 crore highways, the Federation of National Highway Builders said that a new land acquisition law for public purpose has to be implemented and coordination between NHAI and State governments should be more.
