Highway construction reaches 15 km a day
Construction and expansion of national highways touched 15 km a day during 2012-13, registering an increase of over 4 km per day. Though this is much less than the government's commitment to construct 20 km per day, it has come as a relief to the Union Highways Ministry and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in light of very few projects on public-private-partnership (PPP) being bagged by highway developers.

GMR ready to re-take road project if govt cuts premium

Navayuga Road Projects to invest Rs 357.60 cr
The Government has approved six foreign direct investment (FDI) proposals worth over Rs 732 crore based on the Foreign Investment Promotion BoardĂâs recommendations. The two largest proposals notified by the Finance Ministry include Hyderabad-based Navayuga Road ProjectsĂâ plans to make downstream investments in its Special Purpose Companies worth Rs 357.60 crore and SIDBI Social Venture TrustĂâs submission to bring in foreign investment worth Rs 285 crore by allotting some units of the Fund.
