Mundra crosses 100-mt mark in cargo throughput
Mundra port in Gujarat has handled 100 million tonne (mt) of cargo during 2013-14, joining an elite club of global ports that have reached this mark. Mundra also became India's biggest port in terms of cargo handled. Mundra port surpassed Kandla port, located just 60 km away on the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat, in terms of the amount of cargo handled.
World Bank inks loan pact for Gujarat road project

Pipavav Port expansion plan
An Environment Ministry panel has reportedly cleared a proposal to develop and modernise facilities at the Pipavav Port in Gujarat. The port works would cost an estimated Rs 1,100 crore. The expert appraisal committee examined the proposal at its meeting held previous month and recommended clearance. The project is likely to significantly boost cargo handling capacity at India´s 1st private sector port.
Bharuch-Dahej Rail line to generate Rs 1,000-cr revenue
In Gujarat, the 64-km-long Bharuch-Dahej Rail Corridor (BDRC) that passes through a fast-growing industrial zone is looking to tap Rs 1,000-crore annual revenue by the end of the current fiscal. The Corridor is to become functional in the next six months to handle bulk and container cargo.
