In Hyderabad, Rs 870 crore civic projects have been proposed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). GHMC had bagged the projects under the phase-I (2005-2012) of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The State-level committee on JNNURM works cleared the proposals for these projects recently and the project proposals would be sending to the Union Ministry for Urban Development soon.

There are about 80 shops functioning from this rundown ‘Sarai’ belonging to the Masjide Almas and Dargah Hazrat Miskeen Shah Saheb.
Locals file case against road widening in Hyd
In Hyderabad, the Lokayukta has registered a case against Serilingampally MLA Bikshapathi Yadav and GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu in connection with a road widening project from Botanical Gardens in Kondapur to the Old Bombay Highway. The case has been registered following a complaint filed by residents of Masid Banda village. According to the complaint, the widening will lead to encroachment upon reserve forest land and a water body.
GHMC asked to cut width of Mozam Jahi Market Road
Hyderabad Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain has directed GHMC Commissioner Krishna Babu to reduce the proposed width of the Mozam Jahi Market Road from 150 feet to 100 feet. The standing committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of the mayor at GHMC head office on June 27. He said the standing committee would inspect Musi river, Bandlaguda tank and Peddamma cheruvu before giving sanction for providing chain link fencing for the water bodies.
Hyderabad’s Mettuguda road to be repaired soon
In Hyderabad, the authorities concerned have initiated steps to repair the main road opposite the St. AnthonyÂ’s Church to Mettuguda junction, which is in a bad condition. Media had exposed the bad condition of the stretch. The process of sanction of estimates and calling for tenders to take up repair work of the stretch will be at the earliest, the authorities concerned said.
