At Visakhapatnam Port in the state, about 18 vessels and 3 lakh tonne of cargo was remained idle for eight hours.

GAIL India’s pipeline project faces hurdle
State-run natural gas transmission firm GAIL India is in the process of laying 42 km underground gas pipeline in Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu. However, the project faces roadblock as farmers in the area oppose the work on grounds that they may lose their livelihood.
Workers’ strike at major ports on Feb 20, 21
To protest against the 'anti-labour and anti-port policies' of the government, workers of major ports in India will strike work on February 20 and 21. SR Kulkarni, president, All India Port & Dock WorkersÂ’ Federation said that the present policy of the government enforced under the pretext of port reforms is nothing but intended to handover the existing ports into the hands of multinational companies.
