Reliance Power exits Tilaiya project
Anil Ambani Group´s Reliance Power has managed a clean and quick exit from the 4,000 MW Tilaiya mega power project in Jharkhand. A little over six months after serving a notice for termination of the power purchase agreement for the project, Reliance Power has done an out-of-court settlement with distribution utilities of 10 states.
Rajasthan Govt, Reliance sign MoU for solar projects
Reliance Power and the Rajasthan government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to develop 6,000 MW of solar power projects in the State in the next ten years.

Reliance’s Butibori plant now fully operational
Reliance Power said its 600 MW coal-based power plant at Butibori in Maharashtra is fully operational. Butibori Power Project is being developed by Vidarbha Industries Power (VIPL), a subsidiary of Reliance Power.

Rajasthan to have worlds largest solar plant
Worlds largest solar plant has been planned in Rajasthan to generate 4,000 MW near the Sambhar lake. The solar plants first phase is estimated to be completed by 2016. It is planned to sell electricity from the solar plant at Rs 5.50 per unit. According to a government statement, the proposed solar projects capacity is about three times Indias total solar power capacity.
Govt may pace up clearances to Rs 49K cr power plants
The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh headed Cabinet Committee on Investments is expected to speed up Rs 49,000 crore worth power plants of companies like Reliance Power and Essar Power, which have been stuck for want of environment and forest clearances at various levels. The panel will consider diversion of forest land for a coal block attached to Rs 20,852 crore Sasan ultra mega power project.
