As two road under bridges (RuBs) are expected to come up at East Anandbagh and Vajpai Nagar in Hyderabad, traffic woes of residents of Malkajgiri and surrounding areas may end soon. The roads and buildings (R&B) department and South Central Railway (SCR) will construct RuBs at East Anandbagh and Vajpai Nagar (Neredmet).
Four years after holding public hearings, the Tamil Nadu State Highways DepartmentÂ’s proposals to construct two road under bridges (RUBs) to replace level crossings in Chennai's Annamalai Nagar and Wimco remain only in paper. Thiruvottiyur residents are irked over inordinate delay in taking up the RUB work which would cut down travelling time for the people living in western parts of the locality.
In 2013, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be taking up three Road Under Bridges (RUBs) and one Road Over Bridge (RoB) crossing over the railway tracks in different parts of the city. The projects costing about Rs 75 crore are already in different stages of progress. The RUB at the revised site of Uttamnagar instead of Safilguda will be constructed at a cost of Rs30 crore.
