NHAI yet to be handed over land for road widening
In Kerala, more than Rs 20 crore has gone to waste in the name of land acquisition for widening of the Thiruvananthapuram-Cherthala stretch of NH 47. While the second deadline for the land acquisition notification lapsed last month, no land has been handed over to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for widening the highway.
Cabinet clears Rs 46 bn worth highway projects
The Rs 2,686 crore Jabalpur-Bhopal road widening project in Madhya Pradesh received the approval of the Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs recently. The 294-km road project would be taken up on a build-operate-transfer Ćā (BOT-toll) basis. This means the project developer will invest in widening the road and collect toll revenues over the concession period. Srinagar District Development Commissioner Farooq Ahmad Shah on April 1 convened a meeting of officers for the immediate widening of National Highway from Pantha Chowk to Sempora in Srinagar. Discussions were held for expediting the widening of National highway at Pantha Chowk besides the removal of encroachments and other bottle necks including popular trees and shifting of utilities across the road.
Sadbhav bags Rs 382-cr NHAI order in TN
For widening of an 80-km stretch of NH-210 in Tamil Nadu, Sadbhav Engineering on March 20 stated that it has bagged a Rs 382-crore order from NHAI. The company has been declared the successful bidder in respect of the bid invited by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Ahmedabad-based firm said in a BSE filing.

Nashik’s roads to be repaired before monsoon
Nashik's roads are going to be repaired. The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has accelerated 19 road works across the city to be ready for the monsoon which is more than three months away. Bids have been invited to undertake various roads works amounting to Rs 14 crore. The work includes widening, resurfacing, tarring and macadamisation.
