Tests at the second unit of the Kudankulam nuclear plant constructed with Russian participation have been completed.
In May, nuclear fuel loading at the second unit was completed, after that subcritical tests were being held without spurring a chain reaction. The next stage will be spurring the controlled chain reaction in the nuclear core and bringing the unit to a minimum controllable power level enough for controlling the chain reaction.
