The Tamil Nadu government framed rules and notified the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Act 2012. The state government has created an institutional framework through this law and it encompasses over 25 social and physical infrastructure sectors.
The law covers various aspects including community consultation, project monitoring, and assessment of objectives achieved in any project, State GovernmentÂ’s Secretary (Expenditure), Finance Department, S Krishnan said at a seminar. The seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry on PPPP in water supply, sewerage and solid waste in Tamil Nadu, called for deeper consultation with the community on designing and implementing infrastructure projects.
