The World Bank has sanctioned a loan of $1,100 million for the construction of a 393-km double line on the Mughalsarai-Bhaupur section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor project. The World Bank board in a meeting sanctioned the second phase loan of $1,100 million for the construction of the electrified double line. The loan agreement would be signed in June.
