In the first two months of the current fiscal, the foreign direct investment (FDI) in the telecom sector has registered US$ 1.5 billion against US$ 9 million in the corresponding months of the previous year. The telecom sector has received total FDI of US$ 1.3 billion in FY2013-14. The FDI in the telecom sector includes radio paging, cellular mobile and basic telephone services.
