Kerala government must begin construction of the proposed flyovers at Edappally and Vyttila in Kochi, Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry demanded.
The proposed flyovers would mitigate traffic congestion in the National Highway and facilitate trade and commerce activities in Kochi, the chamber said.
The chamber called for the construction of Kundannoor flyover on a priority-basis. The ‘Portal Frame Flyover’ model suggested by the District Collector at Vyttila is a welcome step, the chamber said.
The Metro Rail project should be linked with the construction of the flyover and should have far-sighted planning, otherwise it would result in huge losses, the trade body warned.
