Opening of road toll booth at Brahmarakotlu in Bantwal taluk in Karnataka is being opposed by the residents in the taluk and they warned the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI)
that they will intensify their protest if the NHAI opens the road toll without stopping the Panemangalore bridge toll collection.
As per the already announced by the NHAI, it will commence toll collection at Brahmarakotlu on Mangalore-Bangalore national highway on December 5. When it happened, vehicles from Panemangalore and surrounding areas will have to pay toll at two places from December 5. Opposing this double toll, villagers are planning hold roadblockades to express their protest.
