For construction of the proposed ring road of Greater Imphal at a cost of Rs 240 crore, the Manipur government has started the necessary groundwork. On December 11, the State Works Minister Kh Ratankumar, along with an inspection team, inspected the potential route for the proposed ring road for the State capital.
Following approval of the said ring road from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the State government has taken the initiative on the project. He said the state government will be sending the Detailed Project Report to the ADB by May next year, and the government is targeting to announce the tender during 2014.
ADB will be releasing a total fund of Rs 240 crore for the ring road project. The total length of the proposed highway is 39.48 km and will be 22 metre wide.
