The Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has assured Andhra Pradesh of providing the necessary funding for the multi-purpose Polavaram project and other key infra-¡structure projects. The statement followed a meeting between the Finance Minister and a delegation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu recently in Hyderabad. The Polavaram project has been accorded national project status and Rs 250 crore was released for a special purpose vehicle. According to Y Sujana Chowdary, Union Minister for Science & Technology, the Finance Minister assured Naidu and his team that the state would get all the funding assured by the Centre to complete the project. Naidu also raised the issue of funding to develop some industrial corridors and a high speed road network in the state and to connect to the proposed capital city of Amaravati.
