4006 electronic engine was added to the globally known Perkins 4000 Series range. Build on the core of Perkins 4000 Series engines, the new 6-cylinder, 23 litre 4006 electronic engine is rated at 750 kVA prime. The 4006 electronic engine provides high power density, simplified service requirements and world-class load acceptance with the ability to operate over a broad range of ambient temperatures and altitudes

“Designed for the growing infrastructure industry in India, it builds on Perkins’ commitment to India by offering market leading performance and reduces cost of ownership at the same time,” informed Tommy Quan, Sales Director-Asia, Perkins.

In order to improve its performance and extend its service life, the valves use new alloys, with optimised designs and geometries which results in a cylinder head top end overhaul period of 15,000 hours. A new piston ring pack was introduced in the 4006 electronic engine that cuts oil consumption up to half. “That’s another big reduction in operating and maintenance costs that impacts the overall cost of ownership for end users,” Tommy added.
