As a part of the Phase II modernisation project, L&T has started the construction of the new integrated terminal at the Chennai airport. Following the excavation work which will continue for the next six months, the project is expected to be completed by mid-2021. The Rs 25 billion projects is said to have an international terminal at the centre with domestic terminal on either side of it. This means that the old Kamaraj Domestic Terminal and the Anna International Terminal will become the international terminal, while the existing domestic and international terminals would be modified to serve as the domestic terminals on two sides. In order to provide a connectivity for the passengers, the three buildings will be linked internally.
