Infrastructure sector sees deals worth $3.49 billion in FY17
The infrastructure sector raised a total of $3.49 billion across 33 transactions in FY17 compared with $2.98 billion raised in 31 transactions in FY16, highlighting the growing number of deals in the sector, according to data from investment bank Equirus Capital.
544 ULBs sign MoUs with EESL for LED streetlights

Govt works on 225 dam projects across the country
The Government of India is implementing the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) with the financial assistance of the World Bank for the repair and rehabilitation of about 225 dam projects across Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Jharkhand (DVC) and Uttrakhand (UJVNL).
Centre releases details on nuclear energy generation
The electricity generation from nuclear power in the last two years, i.e., 2014-15 and 2015-16, was 37,835 million units (MU) and 37,456 MU respectively. The generation in 2014-15 was 35,592 MU of commercial generation and 2,243 MU of infirm (non commercial) generation, while the entire generation in 2015-16 was commercial.
Govt receives Rs 2,638 crore from CIL share buyback
The government has garnered about Rs 2,638 crore from buyback of shares of state-run Coal India Ltd, Parliament has been informed. CIL has bought back Ćā7,88,42,816 shares from Government of India out of the total offer of 10,89,55,223 equity shares @ Rs 335 per equity shares.
CV growth to moderate to 5-6percent in FY2017 | ICRA

Energy transformation has arrived in India. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), IndiaĆās total renewable capacity including solar, wind, biomass and small hydro grew by around 11.2 GW in FY2016-17, at par with thermal capacity addition, which registered a decline of 50 per cent in the year.
