The Union government on September 24 cleared two major road projects in Maharashtra, including the JNPT Port road project. The two road projects entail a total cost of Rs 3,001.19 crore and to be implemented under the Centre's flagship road building programme, National Highways Development Programme (NHDP).
Varanasi roads to get a makeover soon
In Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh, the Public Works Department (PWD) has taken up repair and renovation works on the city roads as digging work by utility companies like UP Jal Nigam is complete. Especially, digging work is complete on five main roads in the city.
Rs 100 cr needed to repair Kolhapur roads: PWD
In Maharashtra's Kolhapur district, the recent rains have damaged 850 km of roads. Now the Public Works Department (PWD) has estimated a requirement of Rs 100 crore to repair the roads. The roads in rural areas of the district's western parts have been badly damaged.
