To improve connectivity to the Ennore port and to boost industrial growth in the North Chennai, the Tamil Nadu government has revived the Northern Port Access (NPA) Road project to connect the Ennore port with Thatchur near Panchetti on Chennai Kolkata Highway. The State Highways Department has entrusted the work of updating the detailed project report for the NPA road project to a consultant.
