Centre gives nod to road development works in Arunachal

The Union government has given its approval for the
four-laning of the road from Itanagar to Banderdewa and double laning from Itanagar to Jote for better connectivity with Itanagar, the Arunchal Pradesh state capital. The development came when Vijay Chibber, Secretary of Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), met Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and gave his in principle approval for the road works in the state.

J&K Minister reviews progress of road projects

In Jammu and Kashmir, work on two vital bridges namely, Wussan and Ramwari Gund would commence this year. These bridges on completion would provide road connectivity to a large population living in the hilly areas of Kangan constituency, said the State Minister for Forests Ecology and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad. To improve the road connectivity in the area, detailed project reports (DPRs) of seven roads have been prepared and will be sent to the Union Government for funding.

The Kerala government is to construct 28 major roads in the state at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore, said the State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy recently. The Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) in Delhi has imparted 'tough terrain road-building technology' to the engineers of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on PMC's road department on June 5.
