The 23 km-long Noida-Greater Noida expressway will continue to be toll-free. The decision was taken at a joint board meeting on May 27. Residents in the two cities were opposed to the proposal for charging toll on the e-way. Commuters, who have been getting a free passage for more than 10 years, were worried that their monthly expenses would shoot up if toll was levied.

Banks to fund road projects if NHAI readies 80% land

Work on Kochi’s Edappally flyover to begin in 4 months
In Kerala's Kochi city, work on the Edappally flyover will begin in four months, the State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said. All the paper work would be ready in two weeksĂâ time. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the implementation of the project of 4-laning of the Dimapur-Kohima section from 124.1 km to 172.9 km of NH-39, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said in Delhi. This project is under the special Accelerated Road Development Programme (SARDP-NE) in North Eastern Region, he said.

Jamshedpur’s key road project to begin on PPP model
In Jharkhand's Jamshedpur, the Eastern Road Corridor Project would soon begin on a public private partnership (PPP) with Jharkhand government and Tata Steel as participants.
