Hyd’s Srinagar Colony road declared a commercial one
In Hyderabad, Srinagar Colony main road has been declared a commercial road, paving the way for property owners to either construct or exploit their existing buildings for commercial use. Henceforth, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will allow shopping complexes, hotels, hospitals, retail shopping activities, service establishments, function halls and petro filling stations on the road.

KSCC to build road at Rs 97-cr to ease traffic in Kochi
To ease traffic congestion from Vallarpadam to NH 17 at Paravoor, Kochi, the Kerala State Construction Corporation (KSCC) will construct a road from Chathanad-Moolampilly at Rs Rs 97-crore. The general council of Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA) held in Kochi on February 12 decided to this extent. It is to entrust the road construction. GIDA had earlier planned to give the project to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Udaipur-Ahmedabad h’way gets nod from FAC
In a major relief to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in Rajasthan, the Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) on February 4 granted clearance for widening of the Kishangarh-Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway. With the approval, work on the project is expected to begin soon.

Reiterating their demand on exit norms, highway developers and financial institutions met Highway Ministry officials on February 11. IL&FS bids for Barwa-Adda-Panagarh h’way stretch
IL&FS Transportation Networks has stated that the company has submitted a bid with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for six-laning of Barwa-Adda-Panagarh Section of NII-2 from km 398.240 to km 521.120 including Panagarh Bypass in Jharkhand and West Bengal under NHDP Phase V to be executed on DBFOT basis.
